Speaking post-match, Jota was asked about his emotional Celtic celebration and he paid tribute to the reception the travelling Hoops support gave him at Fir Park.
Jota told Sky Sports, “Yeah, definitely amazing, amazing feeling. I think I couldn’t have written that better. And it’s just such a happy moment for me to come back to the team, to deliver as well, and again, to celebrate with these amazing fans, because they really deserve it.
“It’s been some quite difficult moments, obviously, like, ups and downs, and I just feel like I’m back home, and I couldn’t be happier than this.
“It has been a long time since I’ve been playing consecutively and I know that it will take time to reach my best levels.
“But we do amazing stuff, and the teammates, I will just work hard every day so I can achieve that as fast as possible.”
If this is just the start of Jota’s second spell at Celtic, the fans will be desperate to see more in the next fixture against Dundee at Celtic Park which is now sure to be a complete sellout.
