Nicolas Kuhn’s stay at Celtic was short-lived, but memorable in terms of picking up trophies.
The 26-year-old spent 18 months at Celtic, winning four trophies, including scoring over 20 goals last season, before departing for Como in the summer.
Cesc Fabregas’ side are one of the stories of European football because, after only two seasons after promotion, they could be on course to secure Champions League football.
But Kuhn is probably not enjoying that success and rise as much as he would want because the former Celtic star has remained rooted to the bench in recent weeks, as Fabregas opts against using him for the fourth game in a row.

Sum up Nicolas Kuhn’s time at Celtic…
Nicolas Kuhn is an unused substitute at Como for four games in a row
On Tuesday night, Como recorded a goalless draw at home to Inter in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final, with Kuhn unused.
For the past three Serie A matches – AC Milan, Juventus, and Lecce – Kuhn hasn’t been used, as he only has one goal to his name since moving from Glasgow for £16.5 million in the summer.
Every Celtic fan will remember Kuhn’s slow start in Glasgow, before he exploded into life and became a key player under Brendan Rodgers.
Perhaps the German could be experiencing a similar situation here, but either way, he’s in a pretty rough situation because he isn’t even getting onto the pitch.

Kuhn’s numbers for Como since his Celtic exit
The issue for Kuhn is that Como have put a lot of money into their project, and if they get into Europe, and even into the Champions League, they will continue to go down that road.
The proof is in the pudding.
| Transfer window | Money spent by Como |
| Summer 2024 | £88m |
| January 2025 | £43m |
| Summer 2025 | £94m |
| January 2026 | £10m |
That might then leave the former Celtic title winner in the lurch because rather than being handed another chance, he could be replaced in the summer if things don’t improve in the coming months.
This is how Kuhn’s record at Como looks on March 4.
| Games | Starts | Off the bench | Unused | Goals | Assists | Total minutes |
| 22 | 7 | 15 | 8 | 1 | 1 | 758 |
Hopefully, Kuhn will find some luck, and things will change because there is still enough time in the season for that to happen.
And as Celtic fans saw on a weekly basis, when Kuhn is absolutely on it, he is a joy to watch and a serious goal threat.
