Have Celtic’s strikers been sorted for the new season?
Effectively, there is one senior striker on the books for Celtic, and that’s Adam Idah; the other two have had very limited game time at the top level – Callum Osmand and Johnny Kenny.
In the case of Celtic’s latest signing, Osmand, he has never played senior football before following his transfer from Fulham, so fans will be hoping that another striker arrives this summer.
Either way, it puts extra pressure on Idah that he has to produce the goods when the 2025/26 campaign kicks off, because he is dividing opinion.
But whilst some have been critical of the Irishman, Charlie Mulgrew is seeing the positive side to it all, and Idah himself will love what he has to say.

Charlie Mulgrew’s big prediction on Adam Idah for the 2025/26 season
Even though Daizen Maeda has been playing down the middle, Mulgrew thinks Idah will now be the ‘main striker’ at the club.
As a result of it, the Celtic hero has backed the Republic of Ireland international to score ‘more than 25 goals’ for the 2025/26 campaign, as he told The Warm-Up.
That’s something Idah has never done in his career, and if it happens, then every Celtic fan will applaud him because he would have also answered a lot of critics.
“I think Rangers will compete a lot better this year,” said Mulgrew on the title race. “But I think Celtic will just have the edge.
“Top scorer? Adam Idah. He will be Celtic’s main striker (next season), and I think he will score more than 25 goals, and he will end up as the top goalscorer.”
Idah’s highest goalscoring seasons in his career so far
The issue throughout Idah’s career is that he hasn’t earned those regular minutes to show everyone what he is about.
That’s why he has only hit double figures on two occasions during his career, and a lot of those goals have come for Celtic.
| Season | Games | Number of goals |
| 24/25 | 54 | 20 |
| 23/24 | 53 | 16 |
| 20/21 | 17 | 3 |
| 19/20 | 16 | 3 |
| 22/23 | 27 | 3 |
| 21/22 | 21 | 1 |
But that won’t be an excuse Idah can use going forward, because if he struggles next term, then the Celtic Park faithful won’t be as forgiving.
