The Celtic AGM has Chris Sutton ‘concerned’ after hearing what Martin O’Neill said after the meeting was prematurely ended.
Celtic chairman Peter Lawwell called the AGM to a halt after he failed to control the room as fans and shareholders let the Parkhead board know exactly what they thought of them.
Red card protests and loud boos welcomed the Celtic board into the AGM as the annual meeting got off to a toxic start.
But it was what Martin O’Neill said after the Celtic AGM that has Hoops hero Sutton ‘worried’ after he watched the scenes unfolding in a morning of complete drama.

Chris Sutton says what happened at the Celtic AGM was ‘absolutely incredible’
Sutton was asked prior to Celtic beating St Mirren what his thoughts were about the AGM when the iconic striker said he was in disbelief at how the proceedings unfolded.
Sutton said on Sky Sports, “I arrived in Glasgow this morning and everybody is talking about what happened yesterday at the AGM, and I’ve got to say I am worried.
“I am concerned about yesterday because I didn’t think that the bad feeling amongst the large element of the Celtic support and the board could get worse, but it seemed to get worse.
“I mean what happened yesterday was absolutely incredible.”
Sutton ‘feels sorry’ for Martin O’Neill after Celtic AGM
And when he heard Martin O’Neill’s thoughts about the shambolic AGM, Sutton said the Celtic board and fans must listen to the interim boss to keep their season on track.
Sutton continued, “I think, Martin O’Neill summed up things best, and I feel sorry for Martin that he’s come back to the club in this sort of caretaker capacity and he had to take over and endure this sort of angst and unrest which there is.
“But his words, a club that is not united will never win, will never be successful.
“I think everybody needs to take a step back and supporters and the board and think about his words.
“I think he’s absolutely right, and they need to find a way to unite.”
The Celtic AGM was a shambolic affair where the board embarrassed the club with their attack on the fans and their demeaning comments to shareholders.
Whether or not the meeting will be rescheduled is unclear, but one thing is for sure, if the Celtic board didn’t know the depth of anger of the supporters and the shareholders, they certainly do now.
