Only one man has dominated the Celtic headlines in recent days.
Kieran Tierney has been the talk of the town after Celtic finally confirmed his return to Glasgow on Tuesday, ahead of his Arsenal contract expiring at the end of June.
Celtic love a comeback story, and there have been plenty of them in recent times, from Brendan Rodgers coming back for his second spell, and now Tierney returning to his boyhood club.
Not forgetting that Jota also returned to where he made a name for himself during the winter transfer window, after his stint in Saudi Arabia and France.
But could another Celtic hero be on the radar for a Parkhead return?
During the recently concluded season and following the turn of the year, the champions of Scotland produced iffy defensive performances, and there could be an answer to these problems.
Ex-Celtic star Kristoffer Ajer told to ‘find a new club’
Kristoffer Ajer spent five seasons in the colours of Celtic before leaving in 2021 and joining Brentford following their promotion to the Premier League.
But during Ajer’s 24 matches in 2024/25, only three of those games were at centre-back, and now his international manager at Norway, Stale Solbakken, has told him to ‘find a new club’, as posted by Sky Sports.
You wonder if a Celtic reunion could be on the cards because, with the 2026 World Cup around the corner, Ajer will want to head into that in the best way possible.
“He can be a very good and stable centre-back, and he was [against Estonia], but he has to change clubs,” Solbakken said.
“He cannot play right-back in every third game if he is to be a proper, safe and good centre-back. Because he has all the prerequisites. I think Ajer would have been better suited to playing centre-back in another league. He has had some tough injuries in England.
“He will never be a super right-back, at the same level as he is as a centre-back. At the age he is now, I think he is allowed to put his foot down. You can’t be a ‘cover’ right-back at his age now. Many people get angry with me when I say things like that publicly, but I think we should be a little honest about it.
“Not that I’m going to interfere with Brentford selling him, but he’s at an age and is a type of player who can develop into a very stable, good defender at a high level.”

Ajer was a joyful player to watch, and he brought out the ball with ease and high technical quality.
That’s why the 27-year-old picked up nine trophies during his time in Glasgow, and you wonder if more could be added to that cabinet.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is the main guy at the back for Celtic, but Liam Scales and Auston Trusty divide opinion, and some more quality is needed.
Ajer is welcome back anytime, and just like Tierney, at 27, he still has plenty more left to offer.
