Daizen Maeda was shown a straight red card for Celtic in their win over Young Boys last week.
It was an incident which caused the nerve-shredding end to the Champions League tie where the Hoops narrowly came away with a 1-0 win at Parkhead.
Maeda kicked out at Mohamed Ali Camara during the game despite the Japanese player being booted up and down the pitch beforehand.
VAR intervened despite an initial yellow and upgraded it to a sending off.
The referee’s decision meant Maeda will miss this evening’s final matchday eight clash with Aston Villa in Birmingham as punishment for his rush of blood to the head.
And now he has discovered his fate regarding any further ruling from UEFA.

The governing body’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Board have opted to hand the attacker a two-match ban for the severity of the challenge.
They claim Maeda “assaulted another player” following a review in which they made their final decision.

The Japanese international took to X, formerly Twitter, to say: “Thank you for your support.
“I’m really sorry for causing trouble to the team in such a wonderful atmosphere. I’ll continue to do my best for the team.
“Congratulations to all the Celtic fans and supporters.”

Celtic fans reacted to Maeda’s red card apology
Fans then had their own say on Maeda’s apology and forgave the playmaker for his indiscretion.
It comes as a major blow to the Hoops who have relied on Maeda’s goals and assists this season as he rivals Nicolas Kuhn for the top player at the club this term.
The 27-year-old has outdone himself on the goal scoring front this campaign in all competitions and blown his own Celtic record out of the water.
Maeda has 15 goals and six assists in all competitions.
