The gap between Celtic and Rangers on and off the park has never been so big.
With Rangers struggling to stay in the top six of the Scottish Premiership, Celtic look well on course to win their fifth title in a row this season.
Of course, that outcome is not a given considering Celtic’s draw with Hibs meant Brendan Rodgers dropped two more points this weekend at Parkhead.
However, it was Rangers’ midweek performance against Genk in the Europa League that spurred former Rangers man Derek Ferguson’s pain after he was reminded about the gap to Celtic in the Scottish league.

Derek Ferguson’s Hearts pain after being told Rangers are ‘miles off Celtic’
BBC presenter Kenny McIntyre was speaking about Rangers as he cast his eye over the 1-0 Europa League defeat to Genk.
Former Celtic striker Hyeongyu Oh caused more Rangers pain this week and that led McIntyre to pile more misery onto Ferguson.
McIntyre told Ferguson on The Scottish Football Podcast [29m 55s], “The reality is, Derek, they are miles off Celtic.
“There’s probably an argument right now in terms of, I’m just even wondering about the squad quality, in terms of Hearts as well right now, who were thoroughly deserving of their victory at Ibrox a couple of weeks ago.”
Ferguson replied: “Yeah, again, they’ve got a manager, a good manager that knows how to negotiate themselves through this league. He knows it inside out.
“But we’ve got a manager that’s come up here, although he’s played with the club before, he’s underperforming. Way underperforming.
“He keeps saying he knows the pressures, he knows everything that goes with it. So he knows what the supporters expect. They expect free-flowing football, attacking football, high energy, players giving it their all.
“We’re getting the exact opposite.”
When Celtic next face Hearts and Rangers
Celtic have already faced Rangers at Ibrox this season and played out a 0-0 draw at Ibrox.
With the gap at the top of the league still significant between Celtic and Rangers and Hearts two points ahead, when does Brendan Rodgers face both teams again in the league?
Celtic will face Hearts for the first time on the 26th of October at Tynecastle in a game that is sure to be a cracker.
As for Rangers, they visit Celtic Park on the 3rd of January where Rodgers could inflict more misery on Russell Martin if he is still in charge of the Ibrox side in the New Year.
