Another huge season awaits everyone in Scotland, as it could prove to be a record-breaking one for Celtic.
Yes, Celtic and Brendan Rodgers are already smashing many records, but for the 2025/26 campaign, this is the chance for those in green and white colours to win Premiership title number 56.
That would surpass Rangers’ tally of 55, and those at Ibrox are doing everything they can to try and stop Celtic’s trophy-crazy ways.
As many would have seen, Rangers appointed Russell Martin as their new manager this month, on top of the fact that the 49ers Enterprise have come in to invest in Glasgow’s second-best club.
Of course, Rodgers has seen all of this before, because he has seen off more Rangers managers, from Barry Ferguson to Pedro Caixinha, than the Gers have Premiership titles during the Irishman’s trophy-winning reign at Celtic.
And, with talk about the 2025/26 season already starting to bubble up, Neil Warnock offered his thoughts.

Neil Warnock on Russell Martin’s Rangers trying to stop Celtic
Warnock managed Aberdeen for several months last season, but he didn’t face Celtic during that short stint and thinks Rangers have a chance under Martin.
The 76-year-old thinks, if Martin can go ‘a bit more direct’ with his possession-based style of play, then he will challenge Celtic, as he told talkSPORT.
Speaking to Celtic mad-Alan Brazil, the English manager also stated that he is ‘looking forward’ to coming on to talkSPORT’s Breakfast programme in the future, because things between Celtic and Rangers will become ‘a bit more even’.
Brazil rightfully shot all of that down by reciting a lyric from Warnock’s favourite band that was apt for this situation.
Brazil asked: “Neil (Warnock), talking about Southampton, Russell Martin has gone to Rangers. Do you give him a chance up there?”
Warnock responded: “I do, yeah, against you lot (Celtic). I just think if he could get a little bit more direct, instead of 20 passes at the back, if he can get a bit more direct, then I think he will give you lads a game.
“I think it’s a great job for Russell. The city, he has been there, so he knows about (Celtic and Rangers). He would have learnt from his mistakes at Southampton, hopefully. If he just puts another slight turn to what he believes in, and becomes a little bit more direct when they play the lesser teams.
“I am looking forward, Alan, to actually coming on your programme a little bit more even now.”
Brazil responded: “I know that your favourite band is Supertramp and their great hit was ‘Dreamer. Nothing but a dreamer.’ We shall see, Mr Warnock.”
Celtic’s trophy dominance since 2000
Martin O’Neill started Celtic’s dominance of these last 25 years, including winning the Treble, and since then, nobody has come close.
Since the turn of the century, from Gordon Strachan to Neil Lennon, they have all delivered titles, and more Trebles than those across the city can dream of.
Major domestic trophies in Scotland since 2000:
- Celtic – 42
- Rangers – 18
- St Johnstone – 3
- Hearts – 2
- Aberdeen – 2
- Hibernian – 2
