Celtic earned their win over Motherwell as the Bhoys put aside early first-half scares to take care of Stuart Kettlewell’s side with ease.
Brendan Rodgers named a much-changed Celtic side to face the Fir Park club as the Hoops boss rung the changes after his team’s Champions League exertions midweek.
Luke McCowan started as the injured Callum McGregor watched on from the stands as Kris Boyd named two Celtic players even he admitted don’t let the Hoops down whenever they are called upon.
Celtic heroes James Forrest and Paulo Bernardo earn Boyd praise
Boyd told Sky Sports prior to Celtic beating Motherwell, “We’re forgetting Aberdeen are top the league right now.
“Celtic need to come here and get three points to go back to the top after last week drawing with Aberdeen at home.
“They will want to come and put on a performance and get back to the top of the league ahead of the mid-week fixtures because they know that Aberdeen and Rangers are obviously playing each other as well.
“I mean, it’s an opportunity for Celtic to come here and get back to winning ways in the league. It doesn’t matter how many changes Brendan Rodgers makes he’s still got the quality to go out there.
“I mean, we’ve spoken about James Forrest for years now. He finds himself out of the team for a few weeks, he comes back in and he never lets Celtic down.
“Kyogo comes back and replaces Adam Idah. Bernardo, you know that in the games that he starts, he’s never let Celtic down.
“The changes he makes, it doesn’t really have that big an impact.”
Celtic’s squad depth set to be challenged in the next two weeks
The next international break is in two weeks but before then, Celtic has plenty of important fixtures coming up that will test Rodgers’ squad depth.

With Dundee and Aberdeen up this week, the Celtic boss looks like he could be facing at least one of those games without his captain as Callum McGregor recovers from his injury.
RB Leipzig poses another challenge for Celtic in the Champions League with Kilmarnock at home who are buoyed after beating Rangers last weekend.
Four games in ten days is a tough ask for Rodgers and he will be hoping that James Forrest and Paulo Bernardo, when called upon, will continue to remain reliable to help Celtic go into the two-week break with another four wins under their belt.
