Celtic are still on the hunt for a new manager, and things look like they are beginning to take shape.

Everyone was left caught out by Brendan Rodgers’ resignation days after the defeat against league leaders Hearts.

While the Celtic board find their perfect replacement, Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney have held down the fort on an interim basis.

It has been just over two weeks since that process began and so, with that, here is all we know so far.

Poll: Who would you like to become the new Celtic manager?

Who is in the running to become the new Celtic manager?

There have been several names in the running for the job in a short space of time.

We’ve had all sorts from Ange Postecoglou and Craig Bellamy – both of whom have essentially ruled themselves out of contention.

Kieran McKenna is reported to be interested, however, his compensation package may prove to be a stumbling block.

The two main contenders are Wilfried Nancy and Kjetil Knutsen.

Nancy is the frontrunner for the job and has earned plaudits from many in the US.

As for Knutsen, he is most Celtic fans’ number one choice and as revealed by 67 Hail Hail, the Norwegian would be open to joining the Hoops.

When can Celtic expect the new manager to be appointed?

It is clear that the Hoops are taking their time in order to ensure they get the appointment right.

We revealed that O’Neill may be open to staying for the remainder of the season if it takes that long. But, it seems that everyone is keen to get something over the line sooner rather than later.

In an ideal world, Celtic will have their manager in before the end of the international break to allow them to prepare for the game against St Mirren on 22 November.

If not, it may have to wait until after the Premier Sports Cup final or the new year for final confirmation.
