There were a lot of positives for the Celtic fans to take away from watching their team destroy Aberdeen at Hampden in the League Cup semi-final.
Celtic putting Aberdeen in their place is probably the biggest thing from yesterday because as many Hoops fans know, some of the Dons supporters on social media were getting a wee bit above their station after Aberdeen’s draw at Celtic Park last month.
Other positives were the performances of Daizen Maeda, Alex Valle and Arne Engels who were all brilliant in Celtic’s Hampden win.
However, one of the best bits from yesterday was something that was unseen by Auston Trusty as the Celtic defender reacted to Kyogo Furuhashi’s goal against Aberdeen.

Kyogo’s goal came quickly after Cameron Carter-Vickers’ opener and what Trusty did as Celtic went 2-0 up was just superb.
The US international has had to bide his time to get his chance at Celtic and Brendan Rodgers kept his faith in Trusty as Liam Scales was dropped to the bench for the big Hampden semi-final.

Celtic paid £6m for Trusty as Brendan Rodgers looked to bolster his backline for the assault on the domestic campaign and the Champions League.
Simon Donnelly backed Trusty to start for Celtic against Aberdeen due to the American’s good form this season.
Trusty was also labelled ‘a big character’ after impressing for Celtic in the Atalanta draw and Rodgers himself called the Celtic defender ‘immense’ just last week.
Is Trusty starting for Celtic against Aberdeen an ominous sign for Liam Scales moving forward? That’s not really what fans should be focused on.
The fact Rodgers now has three central defenders to rely upon should be noted as a positive as they will all push each other to improve performances to make future Celtic starting lineups.
