The transfer window has been open for eight days now and, as yet, Celtic are to do any business for any incomings.

Celtic have been linked with Kieran Tierney with the Arsenal defender tipped to make a return to his boyhood club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

In terms of outgoings, there are murmurings that Luis Palma could be heading for a Celtic exit after the Honduran has struggled at the club over the last 12 months.

Stephen Welsh secured a Celtic exit as the 24-year-old moved out on loan to Belgian side, KV Mechelen this afternoon until the end of the season.

However, Celtic fans want to see additions to the team so here are four players who were once linked to Brendan Rodgers’ team whose contracts end this season.

The Fenerbache ace and MLS star Celtic once wanted who could be signed for free

Celtic need reinforcements in a number of areas of the team with the wing area being a particular not of concern.

Nicolas Kuhn’s late injury call-off for Celtic last night meant Hyunjun Yang was thrust into the starting lineup. For all his endeavour, it was another night of no assists or goals for the South Korean.

Celtic could add Bright Osaye-Samuel to the ranks for free this summer. Linked to the Hoops in 2021, the Nigerian international’s contract with Fenerbache expires at the end of this season

Played mainly as a wingback, Osaye-Samuel is a utility player who has played almost 100 games as a winger and could offer the Hoops an option to offer cover in both the fullback and wing areas on both flanks.

Another position Rodgers could look to add depth is in the midfield area. Fans may argue that the heart of the team has plenty of cover but if offered a chance to sign an international midfield player with 27 caps and experience in Euro 2020 and 2024, would Rodgers nab it?

That’s exactly what he could do with a move for Daniel Gazdag. The Hungarian was linked to Celtic last summer after he scored 14 goals in 21 games for the Philadelphia Union.

With less than six months left on his contract, Dazdag is free to speak to clubs and the 28-year-old is just entering the peak years of his career.

A bit closer to home, the English Premier League could offer options to Brendan Rodgers if the Celtic manager is looking to add quality to his squad for minimal cost.

Newcastle’s Fabian Schar is out of contract in the summer and the 33-year-old defender could be a great option for Celtic.

With 86 caps to his name, Schar was linked to Celtic back in 2018 after being alerted to a £3.5m release clause in his contract whilst at Deportivo La Coruna.

He opted to join Newcastle United instead and after five years on Tyneside, he looks like he could be about to leave the club with his contract nearing it’s end.

Finally, Rodgers could land £9m Burnley man, Josh Brownhill, for free this summer. 67 Hail Hail exclusively revealed that Celtic are speaking about Brownhill as a potential addition to the team with a Bosman move looking possible.

At 29, the Burnley captain is hugely experienced and could add good depth and strength to the heart of the Hoops midfield over the next few seasons.
