Celtic hero Kyogo Furuhashi is not enjoying the best start to his career at Birmingham City this season.
After leaving Celtic for Rennes, Kyogo struggled to make his mark at the Ligue 1 side and made just six first-team appearances without scoring a single goal.
A summer move to Birmingham City ended Kyogo’s Rennes hell as the former Celtic man looked to recapture his Parkhead form in a bid to win a place in the Japan national squad.
Would you rather have wing-backs or a striker join the club in January?
However, 21 games and just one goal later, the former Celtic striker is still struggling to find the back of the net regularly, and his manager, Chris Davies has revealed how Kyogo is feeling at the Championship club right now.

Kyogo ‘frustrated’ at Birmingham as Celtic hero rumours swirl
Kyogo was tipped to return to Celtic earlier this week as Wilfried Nancy looks to remedy his striker problem.
And as the Japanese striker’s goal drought continues, Birmingham manager Davies has shared how the former Celtic man is feeling right now.
Davies told Birmingham Live, “It has been a frustration for Kyogo, a frustration for himself more than anyone else, and I can see that in him.
“He really wanted to come here, play regularly, score goals and get back in that Japan squad after a difficult few months in France.
“It was only a few months because he was still doing great at Celtic before he went off there.”
Kyogo is delivering one big metric for Birmingham as manager sends warning
While Kyogo may not be in the goal-scoring charts, the 30-year-old is helping Birmingham in other ways according to the stats that Davies has.
The Blues boss continued, “Going back to the stat about the amount of chances we’ve created, he’s had quite a few of those and someone told me that in terms of big chances created in the league he is up there as well.
Louis Munteanu… no-brainer or red flag?
“And he hasn’t capitalised on those chances. He knows that, I’ve told him that he needs to take those chances and moments.
“He’s good enough to do it, he’s shown that, but he needs to go and make it happen now. No one else is going to do it for him, he needs to do it himself.”
With Celtic looking for a striker, the inevitable rumours of a Parkhead return will likely continue throughout the January window.
Celtic should avoid this as the Japan star made his feelings perfectly clear about leaving the club when Rodgers was in charge and at 30, Kyogo is at the latter stages of his career and will be nowhere near the player he was when he first arrived.
