Ignorant Jamie O’Hara shows utter disrespect towards Celtic live on Sky amid push for Wilfried Nancy

Sky pays for the rights to broadcast Scottish football, but sometimes you question their actions towards the way they treat the likes of Celtic and the league they play in.

Everyone is aware that Scottish football doesn’t have the money of the English Premier League, even though that league itself, when there was little money, was in the dumps and struggling pre-1992.

But Sky’s call to allow Jamie O’Hara to talk about Celtic’s search for a new manager has to be questioned because he showcased pure ignorance around it all.

First of all, it would be helpful if Sky put up a pundit who regularly watches Scottish football and has knowledge of it, rather than one who dips in now and again, and then showcases pure disrespect when talking about it.

That proved to be the case on their Sky Sports FC programme, broadcast on Sky Sports News (13/11/25).

Thankfully, there was a Celtic fan in place to put O’Hara in his place.

Jamie O’Hara reacts to Celtic’s managerial shortlist, including Wilfried Nancy

Wilfried Nancy is a contender for the Celtic job, and when his name was put forward to Paul John Dykes from the Celtic State of Mind, he shared how the Columbus Crew boss is a ‘forward-thinking progressive coach.’

But O’Hara proceeded to question the size of Celtic, given that Nancy is being spoken about, and how they aren’t a massive draw.

Just like the former midfielder, who was relegated with Wolves to England’s third-tier, does regularly on talkSPORT, he started spouting a lot of hot air, but there was somebody else there to put him in his place.

Paul John Dykes from the Celtic State of Mind: “He (Nancy) seems like a forward-thinking progressive coach, a bit of a football philosopher. Of course, when these names arise, you do all your research. You look into what they’ve achieved, and I can understand why he’s a candidate. Absolutely no doubt about it.

“I can see that obviously there’s a comparison there between the Scottish game and MLS – Celtic are still a huge draw. Celtic are a massive draw. I’m pretty sure there’ll be quite a few on the short list.”

O’Hara: “You say it’s a massive draw, but look at the shortlist that’s come up. You’re getting custard pied by managers who don’t want the job. You say it’s a massive draw, but it isn’t. And it’s shown.”

Paul John Dykes: “Celtic are one of the biggest football clubs in the world – But custard pie by whom? Who gave Celtic a custard pie? Who’s knocked us back? I think you’re speculating there a little bit.”

O’Hara: “You’re looking at a manager from the MLS. You can’t tell me you’re a big club. You’re looking at a manager from the MLS.”

Something that wasn’t included in this post is O’Hara claiming that English League One side Stockport County would ‘win the Scottish Premiership.’

Remember, Sky pay for the rights to broadcast Scottish football, yet they allow it to be trampled over in such a fashion by those pundits who hardly watch it.
