Brendan Rodgers has issued an update on Kasper Schmeichel’s injury.
Schmeichel suffered a knock vs Portugal on international duty and the Celtic goalkeeper is set to miss the Hearts clash at Parkhead this weekend.
The 38-year-old has been undergoing tests to discover the reality of the problem as well as a potential timescale for Rodgers to consider his stopper out for.

Kasper Schmeichel has gone for injury scans at Celtic
Viljami Sinisalo will likely deputise for Schmeichel but the manager sounded nervous when asked to discuss Schmeichel’s shoulder issue as he couldn’t yet outline when he might return.
The Irishman said: “Well, we don’t know how long he’ll be out. We’re still waiting to hear on that.
“He’s obviously got some issues with his shoulder. I spoke to him the other day and he’s okay. He’s obviously disappointed that they lost their second game, but in the main he’s okay.”

Rodgers was then, rather ominously, asked if his keeper’s campaign could be over with a Scottish Cup still to play for.
And he added: “I don’t know. We’re just waiting to hear back on the scan.”
Schmeichel’s injury was compounded by the criticism he received from sections of the Danish media in the aftermath of their 5-2 loss to the Portuguese.
Rodgers on Schmeichel’s Denmark criticism
Nicklas Bendtner urged Schmeichel to retire while the PFA had to step in and demand an apology from one journalist who wrote a hit-piece on the player.
For Rodgers, he has urged the Dane to take all the criticism with a pinch of salt as he is still a top class operator.
Rodgers added: “One, I haven’t seen it. I don’t know what was said.
“All I know with Kasper is, and the reason I brought him here, he’s still a top class keeper. If you look at his performance level for us over the course of the season, he’s been absolutely brilliant.
“In big games, he’s put in big performances. He still has that hunger and desire to play. When criticism comes, sometimes it’s not civil and it’s personal, sadly.
“Kasper is an outstanding goalkeeper. He’s been brilliant for this club since coming in, and he’s been an incredible ambassador for his country.”
