The international break has been consumed with news all about who will become the next Rangers manager to face Celtic.
First off, Celtic fans had to endure all the revisionist nonsense about Steven Gerrard coming back to take on Brendan Rodgers.
And now that Gerrard walked away from the Celtic challenge, the Ibrox club have turned to former defender Kevin Muscat.
Clearly a move inspired by Celtic hiring Ange Postecoglou in 2021, Rangers appear to believe Muscat is the man for the job even though they didn’t trust him as a player to take on the Bhoys.
And now that Muscat appears to be the frontrunner for the job, he has been warned that in Celtic, he will face a financial powerhouse when he takes the Ibrox hotseat.

Danny Murphy warns Kevin Muscat about Celtic’s financial power
Murphy said on talkSPORT, “I don’t know him and I don’t really have a great knowledge of his body of work other than what I’ve read and the things he’s won in far countries.
“We don’t know much about the quality and how he’s had to his success unless you look into it more deeply. So, it would be a risk.
“But I suppose he’s got a connection with the club. He’s had some success. Anyone who goes in there is climbing a mountain trying to overcome Celtic with the current Rangers squad and their lack of budget compared to Celtic.
“You are asking for somebody to do a very, very difficult job, but there is loads of room for improvement. So, for someone, it’s probably quite appealing.
“I would imagine that Muscat wouldn’t be the fans’ first choice or somebody they’d be begging to get through the door.”
How Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers ‘opened up’ Kevin Muscat’s eyes to coaching
Muscat has learned his trade under Ange Postecoglou and now that he is out on his own, he is now primed to take on Brendan Rodgers at Celtic.
And it seems that back in 2014, the Celtic boss helped to mould Muscat into the manager that he is now.
Muscat told the Daily Mail, “My thirst for knowledge is great. I went over to spend time with Brendan Rodgers, Frank de Boer at Ajax and Barcelona to gather knowledge and try and create my own philosophy.
“What I tried to do is visit places where the coach or managers had a philosophy.
“I wrote to Brendan to explain who I was and the added connection that Liverpool were due to visit Australia to play us at the end of the season (2014).
‘He opened up the doors to me and was more than welcoming.
“It was valuable to me as well, seeing what he was doing and the style he was playing was brilliant, eye-opening.”
Interesting to see that Rodgers is held in high regard by the possible Rangers boss but that regard will be short should they both be paired up to face each other in the next Glasgow Derby.
