Celtic defender Auston Trusty’s challenge on Rangers goalkeeper is still in the news despite the Premier Sports Cup semi-final taking place almost two weeks ago now.
Celtic beat Rangers 3-1 at Hampden to book their place in the final which will take place on the 14th of December.
However, all the headlines since then have been about whether or not Celtic defender Auston Trusty should have been red carded for his challenge on Butland.
Rangers had a meeting with the SFA about the incident with the Celtic star and now, sporting director Kevin Thelwell has broken his silence on his showdown with the national association.

Rangers ‘disappointed’ with Hampden refereeing in Celtic defeat
As Rangers normally do, the Ibrox club have found some grievance to cling on to after being beaten by Celtic and it appears that Trusty is their comfort blanket this time around.
And now, after speaking to the SFA, Thelwell shares how Rangers ‘fundamentally disagree’ with the yellow card issued to the Celtic defender.
Thelwell told The Scottish Sun, “It’s well known that we were disappointed with some of the consistency of the refereeing on that day.
“We’ve had some strong conversations with the SFA about some of those inconsistencies and some of those decisions.
“We still fundamentally disagree with some of the points that were made, in particular the Auston Trusty incident.”
Rangers want ‘another conversation’ with the SFA to talk about Celtic refereeing
Instead of just letting the game go and moving on, Thelwell wants another meeting with the SFA to discuss the standards of refereeing.
Thelwell continued, “It’s clear from our side that is a red card. We all feel like it’s a dangerous precedent to be saying that striking somebody on the head is nothing short of a red card.
“We want to have another conversation with the SFA.
“We want a greater quality and a greater standard of refereeing.”
Let’s hope that this discussion also includes the missed red card for Derek Cornelius, the VAR lines for Daizen Maeda being ruled offside for the own goal and, of course, the barge that was missed on Reo Hatate in the Rangers penalty box.
After all, Thelwell surely wants all refereeing standards looked at, right?
