Kieran Tierney has delivered a candid assessment of Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic spell coupled with how things are now looking under Martin O’Neill.

Celtic dispensed with Nancy after just 33 days saw the Hoops lose six games from eight fixtures to completely derail their title defence.

Tierney was one player tipped to revel in Nancy’s Celtic system as the fullback is well suited to that marauding wing-back role.

Michael Stewart is buzzing with Kieran Tierney at Celtic right now.

Kieran Tierney’s Celtic regret under Nancy as O’Neill returns ‘normality’

If anyone knows the standards at Celtic it’s Tierney as he was brought up a massive fan of the club.

And that is why the Celtic defender delivered a brutally honest verdict on Nancy’s spell.

Tierney told Celtic TV, “It was disappointing. It’s not good enough. Losing that many games in such a short space of time at Celtic is never acceptable.

“So now, it’s just about making it right and getting winning again.”

And speaking about Martin O’Neill’s return, “The first day we came back in and they were here, it was just like normal again.

“Because we built up a good routine in the however many weeks they were there before and we had good results, good momentum and that it just feels like we’ve picked up from there.”

Celtic’s next fixture as Hearts beckons

Celtic face Falkirk just days before the big trip to Tynecastle to take on Hearts in the Scottish Premiership.

A win tomorrow night could take the Hoops to within three points of the capital should Hearts lose to St Mirren at home.

That would set up a blockbuster clash on Sunday where, depending on tomorrow night’s results, Celtic could go top of the league with a win against Derek McInnes’ men.

It’s all set up to be an exciting week for Celtic fans who could witness a tidal swing in the title race.
