The building blocks are in place at last for Wilfried Nancy after he finally got his first win as Celtic manager.
Nancy ended a run of four successive defeats with a 3-1 win against Aberdeen to keep within close range of league leaders Hearts following their victory in the early kick off against Rangers.
After all of the criticism he has faced, it was a welcome sight to see some Celtic fans throw their support behind Nancy and see this as an opportunity to move forward.
There is still plenty to work on, with some players still out of position. However, one problem can already be solved in the wing-back area as the 48-year-old has two players who are ready-made for that role.

Kieran Tierney and Colby Donovan should be Celtic’s wing-backs
Kieran Tierney was deployed on the left-hand side of the back three once again from the start against Aberdeen.
It is a position he is used to playing in at international level for Scotland, but this restricts the best part of his game.
Tierney’s best spell of the game came when Liam Scales was introduced, allowing him to move to a left wing-back role.
There, the 28-year-old was able to bomb forward and join the attack, subsequently being rewarded by getting on the end of Colby Donovan’s cross to head home and make it 2-1 in the 88th minute.
Donovan is another who is clearly best-suited for the wing-back position. In his breakout campaign, the youngster has proved he is more than good enough to move above Anthony Ralston in the pecking order and compete for a spot with Alistair Johnston, when he is fit.
His tenacious appetite means he has bags of energy, which is perfect for somebody playing as a wing-back.
The balance of the Celtic side also felt far better when those two featured in that position ahead of original starters Luke McCowan and Hyunjun Yang.
Wing-back conundrum allows money to be spent elsewhere
If Nancy decided to persevere with playing Tierney and Donovan as wing-backs, it would open up the chance for money to be spent elsewhere in the transfer market.

There have been no indicators about how much money will be made available by the board for signings, but finding two wing-backs in the squad may mean that other areas that are in desperate need of new recruits can be found.
