Kyogo was Celtic’s go-to striker before he left the club in January.
The striker hit 85 goals in 165 appearances for Celtic and was the safe bet to start every game under Brendan Rodgers both domestically and in the Champions League.
Kyogo wanted to leave Celtic, though, and told the manager just that early on last summer so when Rennes came knocking with a £10million bid, it made sense to cash-in on the 30-year-old who hoped to leave.
It has not worked out for the player in Ligue 1 so far, sadly, with a journalist urging Kyogo to ‘pack up and leave’ after it was reported that he ‘broke trust’ of new boss Habib Beye.

Kyogo appears to put brave face on post-Celtic issues
Kyogo admitted frustration last week and hinted that he could be on the lookout for a new club already.
And now it appears he has taken to social media to put on a brave face following a call-up – and outing – for the Japan squad after a long hiatus.
He posted on X: “Thank you for your support. I will do my best for the rest of the season!!”
It seems that Kyogo is potentially resigned to his Rennes career being over after just a few short months and that will be a disappointment for the attacker who had a good thing going in Glasgow.
Why Kyogo was ‘humiliated’ by Rennes boss
Manager Beye – who took over from the sacked Jorge Sampaoli who had signed Kyogo – has not been enamored with the frontman and Kyogo was humiliated by the boss during a game against giants PSG.
Rather than pick the experienced campaigner for the crunch clash with the biggest club in the division, Beye opted to hand a start to a rookie 17-year-old who had barely kicked a ball in anger for the club.
That must have been a bit of a slap in the face for Kyogo who has played and scored in Champions League fixtures and dominated the Glasgow derby despite the hostile atmosphere.
