Wilfried Nancy has received a crazy amount of criticism at Celtic not just for his system and the team’s performances, but a lot of it was personal as well.
The Celtic manager has now started to pick up results after wins against Aberdeen and Livingston offset the four defeats in a row Nancy suffered when he first arrived at the club.
Celtic’s win over Livingston showed how Nancy is trying to implement an attacking style of football but the Frenchman has been criticised for leaving his defence exposed.
However, it was just a couple of weeks ago when criticism of the Celtic manager started to get personal as some in the media took pot shots at his attire and other things totally unrelated to football.
And that is why football personality Max Rushden has admitted he wants Nancy to win the league after what he’s seen written about the Celtic boss.

Max Rushden wants Nancy to win the league after Venn diagram Celtic controversy
Celtic manager Nancy was widely mocked for the controversy surrounding the Frenchman’s attempt at changing his social media profile picture.
The Hoops boss explained that it was a mistake as he tried to change his WhatsApp profile but it appears that the public backlash Nancy received is enough to make Rushden want Celtic to win the title.
Rushden said on Football Weekly, “Wilfried Nancy watch. Hearts lost the Edinburgh Derby. Celtic won.
“He’s just three points off the top for Mr. Venn Diagram man.
“I’d love him to win the league now after all that.”
As we said, the criticism of Nancy has, at times, been extremely unfair and what a way to reply to it all if the Celtic manager lifts the Scottish Premiership trophy come the end of the season.
What Wilfried Nancy has said about one specific striker as Celtic transfer search continues
It is widely accepted that if Celtic are to win the league, Nancy needs a proper striker to help solve the goalscoring woes he experienced in his first four games at the club.
Nancy watched his team spurn chance after chance in the defeats to Hearts, St Mirren and Dundee United.
And when asked about a former striker at Columbus Crew, the Celtic boss recognised that a good striker is so important for any club.
The Celtic boss said of Cucho Hernandez, “I think that if you ask the question to all coaches, they’re going to say the striker is important.
“Obviously, yes, we are all the same as a coach. But at the same time, what I like with my team and with all the teams that I coach, and for the moment it’s not so bad, we can score from any position.
“This is what has happened since I’m here.
“Now, yes, you mentioned Cucho Hernandez. He did score many goals, but we scored many goals with other players.
“For me, this is important. Obviously, like I said, as a coach, yes, we want all the positions in our team. But again, we’re going to work on that and we’ll see.”
Hernandez scored 58 goals in 94 games before making his move to Real Betis in the summer, proving that there are strikers within the MLS that could come to Scotland and do a job for Celtic.
