Before Celtic took on Rangers, Michael Stewart went on a blistering rant about Wilfried Nancy.

Stewart has a reputation of being a no-holds-barred pundit and over the last few weeks, he has picked apart Nancy’s tactics at Celtic.

The Premier Sports man was on punditry duty in Celtic’s defeat to Motherwell and absolutely eviscerated the Hoops boss as he said the Steelmen ‘schooled’ Nancy’s team.

And this afternoon, just before Celtic took to the pitch to face Rangers, Stewart went on a blistering attack on Nancy and told him his time at the club is over.

Michael Stewart tells Wilfried Nancy his Celtic tenure is already over

Reflecting back on Celtic’s defeat at Fir Park, Stewart said that what the Frenchman said in pre-match Rangers press conference was ‘gobbledydook’.

Stewart said on BBC Radio Scotland, “I mean, credit to Motherwell. They were outstanding. It was the polar opposite of the scale, in terms of a side with clarity from the manager, execution perfect, to a side that, as a manager that in his interview yesterday says he can’t talk, but then there’s one in one answer for seven minutes.

“He talks about having clarity, talks about being clear in what he wants. Yet on the park, you’ve got a team that look, as I just said, the polar opposite of Motherwell.

Watch Celtic players interact with Wilfried Nancy at training. What do you see?

“They are a side that do not know what is expected of them. And he talks so much, yet doesn’t actually say anything.

“I mean, I’m at a loss as to what it is that he’s looking to try to do. And Tom was just pointing out that in the interview, he’d suggested that the shape and the system was only to blame for one goal in his time at the club. That is absolute gobbledygook.

“That is total nonsense of the highest order. And if you’re a player, you’re in the changing room and you’re hearing the manager coming out with stuff like that. I cannot see this team having any belief in the manager.”

Stewart shares how ‘people’ are talking and says Nancy is a ‘busted flush’ at Celtic

And the more Stewart spoke, the more you can sense that the BBC pundit is simply not having Nancy as he said that even if he led Celtic to beat Rangers, it would only paper over the cracks.

The BBC man continued, “His time at that club is done. I said to you before the cup final, if he loses the cup final, it’s a matter of time.

“There is not a single thing that has made me doubt that, and only seeing things to reinforce that belief that Wilfried Nancy is a busted flush, he should never have had the job in the first place, he’s so far out of his depth, and every single person that was involved bringing him to Celtic should be shown the door as well.

“Rangers at the start of the season made a monumental mistake on a number of fronts, and credit to the hierarchy there, because they bit the bullet and they made a change, and they did it quickly.

“Not just the manager, the director of football, the whole thing. Things that were unprecedented to see a director of football go within four months.

“You don’t see that at Celtic and if they’ve got any hope of progress in the club, they need to be making changes on multiple fronts.

Michael Stewart fillets Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy. Was he too harsh? Let us know in the comments.

There is not a single thing that has made me doubt that only seeing things to reinforce that belief that Wilfred Nancy is a busted flush, he should never have had the job in the first place, he’s so far out his depth, and every single person that was involved bringing him to Celtic should be shown the door as well.

“He might win [vs Rangers], and it might buy him a bit more time, but he is not turning the corner. No way.

“We know what football is like, it’s a small world. People talk. And from what we hear and what we see, there is no coming back from it.”

Nancy is certainly up against it and after the defeat to Motherwell, we told how we believed his position at Celtic was untenable.

And now, after Celtic’s embarrassing defeat to Rangers, it looks like Nancy’s time at the club should be over as the Hoops support made their feelings perfectly clear at the end of the derby.
