Celtic let the dust settle from the weekend carnage to make their call on Wilfried Nancy on Monday afternoon.

Losing games at Celtic is unforgivable; losing six in eight matches, including against Rangers, is even worse.

That’s why Nancy deserved to get sacked by Celtic after being appointed in early December, as Scottish football added another chapter to what has been a chaotic and drama-filled season.

Nancy was plucked by Celtic from the MLS, and one of the league’s insiders, Tom Bogert, reacted to this expected news.

What message would you send Wilfried Nancy as Celtic sack the manager?

Tom Bogert reacts to Celtic sacking Wilfried Nancy

There was a lot of build-up to Nancy being appointed by Celtic, and as the delay was happening, many called for Martin O’Neill to stay on as interim charge.

But Celtic opted against that happening, and that delay was mentioned by Tom Bogert on social media.

The MLS insider stated it was ‘admirable’ that Nancy didn’t leave Columbus Crew midway through the campaign, and carried on, before taking the Celtic gig.

Many Celtic fans won’t agree with this, but Bogert has seemingly suggested that the Frenchman needed a pre-season.

The issue with that argument is the fact that O’Neill didn’t need a pre-season, and these performances under Nancy were just getting worse and worse.

‘It was admirable that Wilfried Nancy didn’t want to leave the Columbus Crew during the middle of the season,’ stated Bogert.

‘But joining a European club in this time period, with midweek games essentially every week, did not give him any time to implement make changes in training. Needs a preseason.’
