It is turning out to be another dominant season for Celtic.

On Tuesday night, Celtic thrashed Aberdeen 5-1 and edged closer to another title, as the Treble is also still on for Brendan Rodgers.

Even though so much success is being brought to the table, including Celtic’s progress in the Champions League this season.

It still doesn’t mean that the pressure levels don’t drop and Rodgers has been pretty vocal about a few things in recent months.

Everyone is aware that Kieran Tierney will return to Celtic in the summer on a free transfer after his contract at Arsenal expires.

Tierney is a confirmed option at left-back for the next campaign, but will Greg Taylor be another option? Even though Rodgers has constantly defended the marmite-like figure.

Neil Lennon hails Greg Taylor for going beyond expectations at Celtic

The man who signed Taylor at Celtic was Neil Lennon in 2019 and he thinks the former Kilmarnock star’s time is coming to an end in Glasgow.

There is no sign that a new deal will be signed and Lennon feels, if he does leave, then he can look back on his time at the club with a ‘huge amount of pride’.

Although, Lennon did admit that what Taylor has achieved at Celtic has gone ‘way above what I expected’, as he told Sky Sports Football (25/02/25 at 7:25 pm).

“He has done a lot more (than expected), I have to say,” admitted Lennon. “I liked him when he was at Kilmarnock. I thought he had potential.

“But he has gone on to be a regular fixture at Celtic. Trophies. Playing for Scotland. Playing in Europe and in the Champions League.

“I think he has done way above what I expected. I am delighted for him. Good boy and a good player.

“But it looks like his time has come to an end. I think he can look back on his time at Celtic with a huge amount of pride.”

Taylor’s Celtic career in numbers

The man deserves more respect for what he has done at Celtic and Rodgers didn’t need to come out and defend him like he did.

Taylor’s career at Celtic Park speaks for itself and he is set to add a few more trophies to his name yet.

If Taylor does leave, then it will be interesting to see how Rodgers fills that void and if the answer is starring him in the face.

Yes, Tierney will be the main guy, but there are calls for Celtic to sign Jeffrey Schlupp for next season.
