Brendan Rodgers’ second spell as Celtic manager is going just like his first.
More dominance. And another Treble on the cards for Celtic after they reached the Scottish Cup final on Sunday by thrashing St Johnstone.
The domestic games, especially the Premiership matches, will always be the bread and butter for any Celtic manager.
Rodgers is more than getting the job done, in that regard, as the Hoops are now moments from confirming their 55th Premiership title.

But Celtic did progress in this season’s Champions League, which was a relief and a good sign moving forward.
Neil Lennon has been in that position before, and he feels Rodgers can now go beyond him and Gordon Strachan.

Due to the gulf in finances, Celtic aren’t able to showcase their true power in Europe, so they always find themselves as the underdogs.
But Lennon feels, with the finances the Bhoys now have, he thinks Rodgers can break the ‘glass ceiling’ in the Champions League and push the club beyond the last 16, as he told Premier Sports.
Celtic pushed Bayern Munich as hard as they could during the play-off phase this season, so the signs are there that it can happen.
“I think they (the Celtic board) will (back Rodgers),” said Lennon. “I think that’s the reason why Brendan came back in the first place. He spent big in the summer.
“There has been a glass ceiling of the last 16. Since my time and since Gordon Strachan. I think it could be broken, and they have the financial power to do that. They also have the manager to do that.
“There will be discussions going on from now till the transfers are made. Maybe one player leaves. Two big ones left this year. Kyogo and Matt O’Riley.
“But, they were still very, very good in Europe and great domestically, so what Brendan will want is incrementally is to improve on that.
“Yes, it’s going to cost money, but the money is there to be spent.”

It has benefited Celtic because it has allowed them to compete against teams that are more on their level, hence why progress was made this term.
