One more big game awaits Brendan Rodgers and Celtic.
In recent matches, through rotation, giving squad players a chance, and injured players, the Celtic manager has made changes to his XI.
But, on Saturday, as Celtic celebrated their title against St Mirren, aside from the injury to Reo Hatate, you would argue that the club’s strongest possible XI was played.
So, ahead of Celtic’s Scottish Cup final showdown with Aberdeen at Hampden at the weekend, does the team pick itself?
Well, after Celtic’s late show against St Mirren, Chris Sutton feels that might not be the case, and he highlighted one position.

Nicolas Kuhn to be dropped for James Forrest for Scottish Cup final?
Nicolas Kuhn’s form has been on and off in 2025, after he made a blistering and outstanding start to the campaign.
But, against St Mirren, Sutton feels that Kuhn had a ‘quiet game’, and began questioning his place in the XI ahead of the Hampden showpiece, as he told Sky Sports Football (17/05/25).
The German isn’t helped by the fact that James Forrest netted his record-breaking goal, and he has been in blistering form since returning from injury.
“He is the most decorated, and I have said to you before, the most underrated,” said Sutton.
“He has had a phenomenal career at Celtic. The goal was fitting, the way he just cut across it, and he had chances at Pittodrie, didn’t he!? And it didn’t happen.
“The longer the game went on, you are thinking, ‘well, maybe it’s not just Celtic’s day, but James isn’t going to get there’.
“But he came on, and Nicolas Kuhn had a quiet game. We talked about the starting lineup being one for the cup final. I am not so sure now.
“With James Forrest’s performance, the way he came on, and the whole dynamic of the game changed. The difference maker. Brilliant for him. Martin (O’Neill) is talking about the roar (from the home crowd). It was fitting. It was sensational.”
Kuhn and Forrest’s stats for Celtic against St Mirren
Forrest has been one of Celtic’s best performers in recent weeks, including a Man of the Match display in his last start against Aberdeen of all teams.
Rodgers has dropped Kuhn before, so there is no reason why he can’t do it again, and Forrest is Mr. Popular right now with the Celtic Park faithful.
Either way, going off the last game, Forrest, who came onto the pitch for Kuhn just before the hour mark, did far more than the German, as posted by WhoScored.
