How many managers will Celtic go through by the time Jota returns from injury?
Last April, Jota suffered a cruciate ligament injury, and it has kept him on the sidelines since, with no sign of a return anytime soon.
During that period, Brendan Rodgers resigned and has a new job, Martin O’Neill had an interim spell, and now Wilfried Nancy has made a horror start.
If this continues for Nancy, he might be out the door, and another manager might be in place by the time Jota is back on the pitch.
Either way, the Open Goal panel are stunned by what Celtic’s under-fire coach is asking some of his players to do, including Liam Scales.

Does Wilfried Nancy have the belief of the Celtic players?
Open Goal panel stunned by Liam Scales’ role under Wilfried Nancy
Si Ferry and Paul Slane were discussing the role Scales has been asked to do by Nancy, and how he is more or less playing as a left-sided winger.
Speaking on Open Goal, Ferry questioned whether Nancy ‘knows the players’, after also putting James Forrest in midfield during Celtic’s defeat to St Mirren in the League Cup final.
The panel agreed that Scales spent most of the time on the left wing, with Ferry mocking the idea that the new manager in charge thinks he is ‘Jota, by the way.’
One thing is for sure: there seems to be a lot of confusion around what the Celtic players are being asked to do, and the man in charge has to get a win as soon as possible.
Celtic take on Dundee United on Wednesday night, and it’s going to be interesting to see what role Scales deploys and whether the players can actually win a game of football.
Ferry: “Do you think he knows the players?”
Slane: “I don’t think he does.”
Ferry: “I think somebody has told him that Scales is Jota, by the way. I can’t get the memory of Scales running up and down that left wing.”
Slane: “Overlaps. Constantly. He must have been f___d. Somebody needs to check on him. Is Scales alright? Holy f__k. He is doing everything.”
Ferry: “I have never seen a left centre-back play left wing for the majority of the game.”
Andy Halliday: “First half, it was literally, he was left wing the whole game, wasn’t he?!”
