Celtic no doubt deserved to get beaten by St Mirren on Sunday in the League Cup final.
But one of the turning points for Celtic was Kelechi Iheanacho going off after half an hour when the scores were still 1-1.
Not many Celtic players can hold their heads up high, but Iheanacho did start the game strongly, including holding the ball up very well as the main centre-forward.
But then Celtic’s summer signing pulled up with an injury, and Pat Bonner wasn’t surprised.

Pat Bonner’s ‘worry’ with Kelechi Iheanacho after Celtic injury
This isn’t helpful for Celtic because, even with Iheanacho fit and firing, the team is looking for an out-and-out centre-forward during the January transfer window.
The 29-year-old has just returned from the treatment room after over a month out, but Bonner questioned how he was eased back into action.
Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland (14/12/25), Bonner stated that he was ‘always worried’ about Iheanacho’s situation, as he seemed to go off with a hamstring injury.
“I always worried about him coming back,” said Bonner. “Just started. He came on, didn’t he? In one of the games?!
“Then he (came off the bench) the other night, and then he started again. Maybe it’s a little bit of cramp.”

Iheanacho’s season at Celtic in numbers
Remember, Iheanacho was signed after the transfer window shut, and the Celtic fans weren’t happy with what had happened all summer, so his signing wasn’t exactly met with open arms.
Bearing all of that in mind, the Nigerian international has done pretty well. The only issue is staying away from the treatment room.
