Peter Grant rages at Rangers’ actions during Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic interview

The fallout from Celtic’s Glasgow derby defeat continues.

From Celtic’s latest woeful performance in this fixture to the actions of Rangers’ bench after Hamza Igamane’s winning strike, it has still got everybody talking.

It can’t be argued that Celtic deserved to lose against Rangers and suffer their first defeat against their neighbours on home soil in five years.

Peter Grant tuned into the game and wasn’t best pleased with Rangers’ actions after the match, and it’s got nothing to do with the Vaclav Cerny incident.

Peter Grant slams Rangers dressing room’s actions as Brendan Rodgers was conducting Celtic interview

The great thing is that there is another Glasgow derby around the corner and there will certainly be extra fire at Ibrox when that fixture comes about.

Not just because Rangers won, but how they poured oil over the fire as their goals went in and then their post-match actions.

After the full-time whistle, Rodgers was conducting his mandatory interview with Sky Sports, the host broadcaster for the game, and you could hear the music blaring out in the background and it was coming from the opposition dressing room.

Grant stated that he would be ‘in with a sledgehammer’ and how he is ‘fuming’ with all of that, as he told Go Radio.

The Hoops legend noted Celtic’s 13-point lead at the top of the Premiership table, yet ‘they still have music on’.

“I tell you what, if that was me, then I would have been in with a sledgehammer,” said Grant. “I would have been fuming. That’s the one thing that would upset me. Yeah (it’s from the Rangers dressing room). That would upset me if I am listening to all of that. But that’s what you have got to show.

“Credit to Rangers for doing it. They have come in and done it. But I would be letting my players know listening to that. That’s what it means. We have got to remember that.

“That’s what I am saying that I disagree with people saying that Celtic are there as if it didn’t matter or don’t care. That tells you, it cares. They are 13 points behind and they still have the music on, as if they have won the league. You have got to do that all the time. That’s why there is a fine line all the time.

“There is no such thing as gimmes. People say to me ‘as a Celtic player do you like a two-horse race? Do you like the teams close?’.

“Maybe for people outside of Scottish football. I would be running over the hill and away from Rangers, as many points I can get ahead of them as possible. I don’t want that gap to be closed. I want it to be as big as possible.

“There are wee things like that would be annoying me. Listening to that. That’s the thing I would be playing in the next one. ‘You remember that? At our place, that’s what they done’. I don’t care if it’s Lionel Ritchie, that’s them celebrating, that doesn’t happen at your place. That shouldn’t happen, but it did.

“So, when you go to that next game and you have got one more left, then you make sure because we have disappointed in the last few.”

Rodgers’ post-match interview with Sky

Celtic simply have to take all of this on the chin because it wouldn’t have happened had they won the match.

As you can see from the video below, the music can be heard loud and clear as Rodgers conducts his interview with Sky.

The only way to stop that is by winning the reverse fixture and then giving your rivals a taste of their own medicine.

It also needs to be remembered that Celtic should be champions by then, so you can rub even more salt into the Rangers wound.
