With the transfer window almost nearing its end, the Celtic fans will be looking forward to seeing what Brendan Rodgers has up his sleeve to strengthen the team.

67 Hail Hail has already discussed today how the Celtic boss has dropped interest in Mateusz Bogusz to focus his attention on other priority transfers.

Rodgers also now knows that to land Sheffield United centre-back, Auston Trusty, a bid of around £6m will be required before Friday’s deadline.

However, Peter Grant has another suggestion for a player who Brendan Rodgers should look to sign and the former Celtic hero reckons he could have an impact on the first team.

Lennon Miller to Celtic mooted

Not for the first time, Lennon Miller has been mooted for a move to Paradise and with less than two days of the window to go, Grant believes Celtic should make a move.

Grant told The Go Radio Football Show, “Lennon Miller for me, I think people would be surprised, I think he would have an effect on the team.

“Whether he’s starting all the time, but it gives him a learning experience working under the manager, working with good players. I’m not being disrespectful to Motherwell, obviously, it’s another level these boys are on.

“And I think that would definitely be a good signing for them. And at the price, which you would think is a good price, because I believe that it’s only going to get dearer to buy him, for sure. I think he’s got all the tools to get better and better.”

“And I think Brendan and that all know he’s a good player.

“I think there’s absolutely no doubt any coach in the Premier League will tell you that he can play but there’s only Celtic, and I’m not saying Rangers, but if Rangers bring some money in, there’s only Celtic and probably Rangers could afford him.”

Lennon Miller is one for the future

Whilst many Celtic fans agree with the crux of what Grant is saying, bringing in Lennon Miller would be with a view to developing him for the future.

The Motherwell youngster is undoubtedly talented and would have caught the eye of Rodgers after his appearances against Celtic last season.

However, if Celtic did make a move, an immediate loan back to Motherwell would be best to help him continue his development.

With the best will in the world, Lennon just won’t get in ahead of the players Celtic have at the club at the moment, but as a player for the future, that is a move that would appeal to a lot of Celtic supporters.
