What a 24 hours it has been so far. With a new Celtic manager at the helm and fresh rumours about incoming transfers, it seems that this summer is going to be a very busy for the Hoops supporters.
With news this morning that Brendan Rodgers will be given £30m to spend in the transfer window, the Celtic support can look forward in anticipation at the window ahead.
But with those incomings, players will have to be moved on. 67 Hail Hail told yesterday how former Celtic captain, Scott Brown was interested in taking Adam Montgomery down to Fleetwood Town. We also told how a number of Scottish Premier League clubs are also interested in him.
Broony has enjoyed a fairly successful first season at The Cods. After securing their League One status, Brown now wants to kick his team on and he sees Adam Montgomery as a player that can help him do that.
But it seems that he may well face competition from the league above him. The Courier reports that there are a number of English Championship teams interested in the Celtic left-backs services.
It seems that the youngster’s productive loan spell at St Johnstone has not only impressed Brown, but also other clubs down south.
Although no teams were named in the report, if offered the opportunity, you would have to assume that Montgomery would choose England’s second tier as an opportunity to test himself.
However, the 20-year-old may see the opportunity to team up with Brown again as tempting. Montgomery was coached by Brown up at Aberdeen when the youngster went on loan for a short term in season 2021/22.
However it pans out, it seems that Montgomery will not be short of offers if Brendan Rodgers agrees to allow him to go out on loan again next season.
