A report has shared what Ajax are prepared to pay Kjetil Knutsen, and it seems affordable for Celtic.
The Amsterdam side are said to be interested in the current Bodo/Glimt manager, as is confirmed in Tipsbladet’s report.
The Danish outlet mention a fee of 15 to 18 million Danish Krone (around £1.7m to £2.1m).

While some other outlets have taken this to be the fee required to prise Knutsen away from Bodo/Glimt, the article is actually talking about yearly wages.
They say that Ajax were “prepared to pay” the amount to Knutsen per year.
Celtic are known to have Knutsen “under consideration” as a potential replacement for Ange Postecoglou.
While time will tell if a deal is possible, it doesn’t seem like the wage would be an issue.
Brendan Rodgers was reported to be on £2.3million per year when he joined us in 2016 (Daily Record) so the reported amount for Knutsen is affordable.
This can be viewed as possible good news for Celtic if we have a real interest in Knutsen.
If it comes down to a straight shoot-out with Ajax then we will have Champions League football in our favour.
They finished 3rd in this season’s Eredivisie meaning that Europa League football is the best they can hope for next season.

Dermot Desmond is said to have an open mind about the next Celtic manager so perhaps we could see a lesser-known name like Knutsen taking on the job.
The board do have a history of taking a punt. Ange Postecoglou and Ronny Deila could both be considered left-field choices.
Knutsen may be a similar option.
In other news, Steven Hammell will join Celtic in a newly-created role
