Celtic suffered their second defeat of the season against Hibs at Easter Road.

The Bhoys lost 2-1 to Hibs in a performance that really was a game of two halves at the weekend.

Whilst most of the headlines were taken up by VAR denying Celtic an equalising goal, there were a few changes to Brendan Rodgers’ team selection that went under the radar.

Luke McCowan, Adam Idah and Greg Taylor returned to Celtic’s starting lineup as Rodgers rotated his squad and here, the Hoops boss shares why he decided to leave Jeffrey Schlupp on the bench against Hibs.

Celtic boss had Aberdeen in mind as Jeffrey Schlupp dropped out vs Hibs

Rodgers told BBC Sportsound, “The likes of Jeffrey, who was great during the week, that was his first sort of full 90 minutes of the season.

“So Greg [Taylor] can come in, he knows the stadium, he’s played very well. We’ve got another game on Tuesday, so just freshen up each sort of line of the organization.”

“But yeah, Luke’s come in and been really good for us anyway and big Adam coming in giving us that reference up front.

“So yeah, we’ve done it all the way through the season, when we’ve had the midweek games.”
