Brendan Rodgers has his say as Celtic fan action against the board continued prior to Sunday’s defeat to Hearts.
As Celtic lost at Tynecastle, fans held up a banner with the faces of Peter Lawwell, Michael Nicholson and Chris McKay crossed out from the away stand.
The Celtic Fans Collective remains strong in its stance in wanting change at board level and after the defeat to Hearts, that stance will only get stronger as an eight point gap opens up at the top of the Scottish Premiership table.
Speaking post-match, Rodgers was asked about the protest and if the fan unrest is a factor in his team’s poor performances this season.

Brendan Rodgers says Celtic fan action against the board ‘does not have any impact’
Fans have had enough of the Celtic board after not only the summer transfer window, but also because of the briefing against Rodgers in the press and the club’s failure to progress in the Champions League.
And speaking after Celtic’s defeat at Hearts, Rodgers is not having the protests as a reason for the result.
Rodgers told the Daily Record, “I think it’s something that, certainly on a day-to-day, it doesn’t have any impact.
“But I mentioned it the other day, I’m pretty sure there’ll be plenty of studies around the world done at various universities and wherever that’ll tell you what the impact of that disharmony does.
“But on a day-to-day basis, we focus on our training, focus on the work on the field and trying to maximise what we can get from the players.”
What next for Celtic fans and board action?
It is likely the protests will garner more support in Celtic’s next fixture against Falkirk on Wednesday night.
The Bairns visit Celtic Park sitting sixth in the league just below Rangers and Rodgers knows this will not be an easy game to negotiate.
With fans deeply unhappy, it is unlikely that there will be 60,000 supporters there to cheer on the Bhoys. But what is guaranteed is that action against the board, who are sitting watching this season unfold, is guaranteed to continue.
