Kieran Tierney was welcomed home to Celtic Park against Newcastle United at the weekend.

The former Arsenal defender was given a hero’s welcome as Tierney returned to Celtic Park for the second time in his career.

The Scotland defender’s move was agreed back in January, but Tierney has now just been given his first of many appearances for Celtic this summer.

And what a way to do it. In a 4-0 win against Newcastle at Celtic Park, Tierney created an assist for Liam Scales’ goal as he capped off his home debut with an assist.

But it wasn’t that moment that gave Celtic Invincibles Moussa Dembele and Erik Sviatchenko ‘goosebumps’.

Kieran Tierney’s home Celtic debut vs Newcastle excites Hoops duo

Kieran Tierney was brought on by Brendan Rodgers in the second half of Celtic’s win over Newcastle and the reaction from the fans said it all.

As Tierney ran on to make his Celtic home debut, the club posted on Instagram the moment that left the Hoops hero speechless and the Parkhead crowd in raptures.

Tierney is clearly still well loved by the Celtic support but it’s also clear that some of his ex-teammates still share the same kind of affection for the defender.

Moussa Dembele replied with ‘😍’ as Erik Sviatchenko said, ‘Goosebumps’. Even Scott Sinclair got in on the act as he sent his former Celtic teammate a double high-five emoji.

The post was also liked by Celtic legends Henrik Larsson and Scott Brown and former Hoops striker Leigh Griffiths.

What Kieran Tierney said about his Celtic Park debut vs Newcastle

Tierney told Celtic TV, “Amazing. I didn’t know what to expect but that was just brilliant. What a feeling.

“I was quite emotional actually, running on to the park like that. It was a great day for me.

“They’re a great team so it just shows the quality that we have got.

“When we play like that we can give anyone a game. Some of the goals we scored were brilliant.”
