Wilfried Nancy has locked down his social media account after his bizarre post on X was panned by Celtic supporters.
The Celtic manager has come under increasing fire after recent results have seen Nancy criticised heavily, especially after the Bhoys’ defeat to St Mirren.
The Frenchman took in his pre-match press conference ahead of Celtic’s trip to Dundee United where Nancy said that he had ‘nothing to prove‘.
Not long after that presser had concluded, Nancy posted a cryptic social media message that drew unnecessary attention at a time when the pressure is building on the Hoops boss.

Well now, the Celtic manager has taken a big step and locked down his X account to anyone except his followers.

If things were not tough enough for Nancy, the Celtic boss made it a whole lot harder for himself with his latest X post.
Many Celtic supporters were left unimpressed as they told Nancy the only thing that matters is winning games.
Social media activity is fine, healthy even, but to preach in the manner that the Celtic boss did was ill-advised at best, but silly at worst.
Celtic supporters don’t want to see this kind of thing from any manager whether they are winning or losing, but with Nancy telling fans that his focus is in between being a winner and what he can’t control, then all he’s doing is antagonising a fanbase who are becoming increasingly unconvinced with each passing game.

Nancy is not doing much to endear himself to the Celtic supporters this week, especially after his pre-match press conference comments abou having nothing to prove.
The Celtic boss said, “This is my job. This is a normal reaction. Don’t forget that I come from Europe, so I know the way it works.
“To be fair, also, in the MLS it’s the same. Not with the same intensity, obviously, but I’ve been a player, also. So no problem with that, they can say what they want.
“And I understand that. After that, I can accept or not – it’s not the topic. The topic is to be good with my players, to be good on the practice, and to be good, also, during the game, to win games.
“I don’t have to prove anything for anybody. Simple as that. I have to just be coherent for my team, and to do my job as best I can.

“After that, I think that things will turn – not on my side, but it’s gonna be more positive. So, for the moment, it’s been ten days that I’m here.”
There was a bit of online debate of whether Nancy’s comment should be taken at face value and, it looks like it should.
It’s great that he’s come out swinging to defend himself but one thing is for sure, with three defeats including a cup final loss and Europa League humiliation, Nancy has plenty to prove to the Celtic support.
