Celtic face Aberdeen this afternoon with Wilfried Nancy under tremendous pressure to record his first win as manager.

Four defeats on the bounce make Nancy’s start at Celtic the worst of any manager in the entire history of the club.

The Celtic manager’s tactics have come under some serious scrutiny as Nancy rips up the 4-3-3 blueprint that has brought in an unprecedented amount of success to the club.

And now, as Nancy’s Celtic future is rumoured to be nearing its end, BBC pundit and Aberdeen legend Willie Miller has told the Hoops boss what it will take to save his career and makes a big claim about the Bhoys’ dressing room.

Willie Miller says Celtic have problems in the dressing room

Celtic’s players are clearly struggling to adapt to Nancy’s system mainly because the Frenchman is using some in positions that are alien to them.

And Miller reckons that is causing problems in the Celtic dressing room.

Miller told BBC Radio Scotland, “I don’t think it’s ridiculous [to say Nancy could be sacked]. Things are that bad. And you know, Michael, there is touching on probably the most important aspect of what’s going wrong at Celtic, and that’s in the dressing room.

“That’s in the dressing room. That’s players who have watched this coach come in and immediately, after more than a decade of success playing a certain way at Celtic Park, the Celtic way, he’s changed it. He’s changed it completely.

“Now I can only say if I was a player and I had that success behind me playing in a certain system, and someone come in and says, ‘No, we’re going to change it. We’re going to radically change it’. After two days, after two days of training.

“And I don’t even know how much training they would actually have done, or how much information he would have got across to the players, but the players in my dressing room certainly, if a coach come in and did that, would be revolting. And I think that’s where it lies.”

Wilfried Nancy told what could save his job at Celtic

And as Celtic are forced to deny that they are on the brink of sacking Nancy, Miller tells the Hoops boss what he could do to effectively save his future at the club.

Miller continued, “I’ve said on a couple occasions recently that I think it would be a strength if he went back and allowed these players to play the way that they normally play, the formation they normally play, and not a weakness.

Could this formation be used at Celtic by Wilfried Nancy? Let us know how you would line up in the comments.

The Celtic line-up Wilfried Nancy could deploy vs Aberdeen.

“I think that might actually save him, if he can start getting results, and then once the season’s over, once he gets into a window or two windows, he brings in the players that can play the way he wants them to play.

“But it seems to me that these players can’t play the way he wants them to play. Don’t want to play the way he wants to play. He says that the formation is not important. Believe me, it is. It’s hugely important.”

67 Hail Hail suggested how Celtic could easily adopt the system pinpointed above to the players Nancy has in order to beat Aberdeen at Parkhead this afternoon.

Whether or not the Frenchman has the appetite to rip up his blueprint and admit he’s got it wrong, for the moment, remains to be seen.

What is for sure is that if Celtic lose to Aberdeen calls to have Nancy removed will intensify and that is something that the Hoops boss needs to take into account when he announces his starting XI this afternoon.
