It’s never a dull day in Scottish football, and it was entertainment galore again over the weekend, as well as another sacking.
Unfortunately for Celtic, they have been on the wrong end of it all under Wilfried Nancy, whose nightmare in Glasgow has become worse.
Following Celtic’s defeat to Rangers on Saturday afternoon, Nancy’s sixth defeat in eight games, many fans called for their manager to be sacked.
But on Sunday evening, it wasn’t Nancy being handed his P45, but Jimmy Thelin being booted out by Aberdeen following their 1-0 loss to Falkirk.

If Wilfried Nancy was to be sacked, who would you want to become the next Celtic manager?

Aberdeen sack Jimmy Thelin after defeat to Falkirk
Even Chris Sutton was being sarcastic about this all because, when Aberdeen sacked Thelin, the former striker reacted on social media by stating, ‘Manager sacked in Scotland…’
Even the man himself, Thelin, accepted his fate and understood why the Dons, who are sitting eighth in the Premiership table, have given him his marching orders.
“Today, my time as manager at Aberdeen comes to an end. It is with great respect for this historic Club that I accept this decision,” Thelin told Aberdeen’s website.
“Results ultimately decide the tenure of this profession, and as such, I take my share of responsibility
But let’s be honest, if there was going to be a sacking in Scotland this weekend, it was supposed to be Nancy, but of course, the Celtic board don’t have the bottle to push that button.

Why the Celtic board won’t sack Wilfried Nancy
If Celtic wanted to sack Nancy, he would have gone by now, and it’s pretty clear that, despite all the negative noise, the powers that be are sticking with him.
It’s pretty simple, all season long, the Celtic fans have protested against the board and how incompetent they are.
From Michael Nicholson not being good enough to be Celtic’s CEO to questioning the actual role of Paul Tisdale and what he brings to the champions of Scotland.
If the Celtic board sacked Nancy right now, it would further prove that the fans are right, and let’s be honest, the men in suits just don’t want to give the Celtic Park faithful further ammunition.
So don’t be surprised that Nancy hasn’t been sacked yet because it won’t just be costly for the Frenchman, but those in the boardroom as well.
