There is a blessing in having a boyhood fan representing Celtic out on the pitch.
Those Celtic supporters in the stands, and across the world, know that those players understand them more than anyone else, and the Hoops have several of them currently wearing the famous green and white colours.
One of them is Luke McCowan, who was on the pitch as Celtic suffered defeat to Rangers on Saturday afternoon, as Wilfried Nancy suffered a new low.
Nancy has now lost six out of eight, as there were ugly and angry scenes during and after the full-time whistle, but McCowan can understand it all.
If Wilfried Nancy was to be sacked, who would you want to become the next Celtic manager?

Luke McCowan pulls no punches after Celtic lose to Rangers
The issue for Nancy is that many saw this coming, given the defeat to Motherwell in midweek and the previous losses under his stewardship.
Speaking on Clyde 1, McCowan stated that it has never been this bad for the champions of Scotland, so he can understand why supporters are so angry.
Nancy is getting a lot of flak, and McCowan explained that the players can do nothing but stick together and ‘collectively get better.’
A lot was made of the former MLS coach replacing Martin O’Neill midway through the season, after his short interim spell, and whether he would be able to implement his ideas.
But McCowan made it clear that ‘you aren’t getting time’ at a club like Celtic, as there are now a lot of calls for Nancy to be sacked.
“It’s not good enough,” said McCowan. “Rangers can’t be coming here and winning 3-1. It’s not good enough. It has never been this story at Celtic, and it shouldn’t be, and it can’t be in the future.
“He is the manager. What do we do? We just need to be together. Collectively get better – we have no other option, we need to somehow get all together, and we need to get results better. Simple as that.
“Especially when you are coming mid-season. You aren’t getting time. It’s about results and winning. That’s just the be-all and end-all of it.
“Let’s call a spade a spade. When has it ever been this bad? It has never. You are asking fans to react to something that, for the first time, they are seeing it, and for us as players, for the first time, we are feeling it.
“It’s not nice, I tell you that, from a player’s perspective. It doesn’t leave you. It haunts you every day of every minute when you are not winning.”
