67 Hail Hail has had their say on the three Celtic players who have improved the most in 2025.

It has been a busy year for the Hoops, with many ups and downs and plenty of room for improvement in 2026.

Under Brendan Rodgers and Wilfried Nancy, certain players have thrived, but there are others who have stood out more than others.

So, without further ado, here are the three Celtic stars who have improved in the past 12 months.

Poll: Rate Celtic’s 2025 out of 10

Liam Scales

Once the scapegoat in the team, Liam Scales is now one of the first names on the teamsheet.

Scales had initially formed a partnership alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers before the USMNT defender was ruled out for the season.

Even with the change to the three-at-the-back formation, the Republic of Ireland international has been one of the more consistent players in the side and we are expecting big things from him next year.

Auston Trusty

After a hit-and-miss first season with the Hoops, the second half of 2025 has seen stellar improvement from Auston Trusty.

Carter-Vickers’ injury allowed him to get a run in the side, and he has taken it with both hands. Despite being a left-sided centre-back by trade, he has been made to play on the right and solidified that position to become his own.

Poll: Who is your Celtic player of the year?

A leader at the back, and a popular figure amongst his teammates, the defender has come on leaps and bounds this calendar year.

Colby Donovan

It has been a remarkable year for Colby Donovan, who was also named by 67 Hail Hail as one of the best academy players in 2025.

Injuries to Alistair Johnston and Anthony Ralston have accelerated his development, however, he has taken it with both hands and become the second choice.

Only 19, the right-back has the world at his feet and going from playing for Celtic B to becoming a key figure in the first-team in the space of the year deserves to be noticed.
