Celtic and Brendan Rodgers are in search of that much-needed striker.
The 2025 summer transfer window is wide open, and Celtic have been pretty busy bringing in three new faces, including the return of Kieran Tierney.
But fans want that regular and out-and-out striker signed because Kyogo Furuhashi wasn’t replaced after he left in January.
Many players have been tipped to come in and sign for the Scottish champions, including Kyogo himself, Evan Ferguson, Danny Ings, Odsonne Edouard, David Strelec, and Mathias Kvistgaarden, to name a few.
But Ally McCoist has suggested a striker who will now leave Everton when his contract expires on June 30.

Celtic have been backed to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is set to leave Everton and become a free agent on July 1 – that was confirmed by the player himself on Instagram on Sunday.
Given this news, it was suggested on talkSPORT that Celtic should look to sign Calvert-Lewin, and it’s a move that has been backed by McCoist.
The former Rangers man only raised one issue – and that’s the 28-year-old’s ‘fitness’ given his injury problems over the years.
But other than that, McCoist thinks, if Calvert-Lewin were to work under Brendan Rodgers, then he would ‘absolutely do well at Celtic’.
Host Sam Quek asks: “This one might pull on your heartstrings. Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Celtic on a free, aged 28, could be getting on, but is full of experience. 6ft2.
“Just finished a long love affair with Everton, but is now unstuck from the Toffees. The word is that he might have his eyes on a new move to Scotland.”
McCoist responded: “It’s only fitness. You get him on the pitch. He would absolutely do well at Celtic. There is no doubt about it. Pacey. Good in the air. He will score you goals.
“Just a question mark over fitness. That’s all I have got, but I would swipe right with that one.”
Calvert-Lewin’s success under Carlo Ancelotti
Calvert-Lewin only netted three Premier League goals in 26 Premier League matches last term, as it feels right that he is moving on from Everton and looking for a new chapter in his career.
If you can get the 11-cap England star back to his best – like he did with Carlo Ancelotti – then Celtic are in for a real treat.
Ancelotti managed Everton from 2019-21, before re-joining Real Madrid, and during his short stint on Merseyside, he got the best out of Calvert-Lewin.
- Calvert-Lewin’s games under Ancelotti: 60
- Goals: 29
- Assists: 6
