Celtic weren’t able to watch their new signings in action against Aberdeen on Wednesday night.
Yes, the fixture list has been pretty taxing for Celtic in recent months, with very little midweek breaks because of Premiership, domestic cup, and Europa League action.
But Celtic’s game at Aberdeen being postponed means that the supporters will have to wait a few more days before they watch the likes of Junior Adamu showcase their talents.
Celtic signed Adamu from SC Freiburg on transfer deadline day, as the young attacker, once dubbed a ‘real rising star’, is now looking to make a name for himself at the champions of Scotland.

Junior Adamu, the one-time ‘real rising star’, is now at Celtic
Kevin Hatchard is a Bundesliga commentator and expert, and he explained the promising start Adamu made to his career, including performing well at RB Salzburg.
At the time, it was suggested that Celtic’s new loan signing was a ‘real rising star’, before that road led him to Freiburg.
Whilst it hasn’t worked out for Adamu in the Bundesliga, Hatchard told Sky Sports that it’s partly due to the fact that he started with an injury, and it didn’t help matters.
“I think he could be (a good signing for Celtic),” said Hatchard. “If you look at the guy who was at Salzburg, and played in the Champions League. You thought, ‘Wow, this is a real rising star.’
“When he made the move to Germany to Freiburg, that looked like a coup at the time. He had an injury to start with, which made for a bit of a false start.
“He’s had some good spells, where he has scored some goals, and you thought, ‘now he is going to make that breakthrough. He is going to be consistent.’ It hasn’t quite happened for him.
“So, he is a bit of a fixer-upper, in that regard. But there is potential there.”

Adamu’s career in numbers
Adamu was born in Nigeria, but he started his professional career in Austria, including coming through at Salzburg.
But that wasn’t the place where he would get his first fix as a senior player because it was FC Liefering, who handed him that chance, and he thrived.
That road then led him back to Salzburg, including a trip to Switzerland along the way, before he joined SC Freiburg in 2023, and now he is in Celtic colours.
