Birmingham City has turned into a second home for Celtic players of late.

In this window alone we have seen Kyogo Furuhashi joined the Blues and last season, Tomoki Iwata linked up with Brendan Rodgers’ former assistant manager Chris Davies.

Celtic also have Hyunjun Yang waiting to join Birmingham in what has been a dramatic final day.

However, it seems that the English second tier club aren’t done there and another Hoops star could be on his way down south.

Birmingham City want Hayato Inamura on loan

According to Football League World, Birmingham are plotting a late loan move for Hayato Inamura.

Rodgers has always planned to loan out Inamura, who was labelled the ‘Japanese Maldini’ by Celtic fans.

With time running out in the window for Birmingham, who have until 7pm to complete deals, this one will have to move quickly as Davies tries to bring in the 23-year-old as cover.

What has Brendan Rodgers said about Hayato Inamura?

Ever since signing from Albirex Niigata, Rodgers has always been cautious about Inamura’s place in the side.

Despite impressing against Livingston, the Celtic manager has always been insistent that he would look to loan him out to develop the youngster.

“Hayato Inamura, I’ve always said I think that he’s come here, he can play in games of dominance when you have 75–80 per cent and can serve it. So he did well,” said Rodgers after the Livingston game.
