With the news that Celtic are looking to strengthen before the end of the summer window and targets are being reported in the media, it seems that one target, Mathias Kvistsgaarden is in big demand.
67 Hail Hail brought you a rundown of the Danish u21 international striker on Sunday and, by all accounts, it seems that the youngster could be a very good addition to the squad.
A day later, a report from The Sun suggested that Celtic may need to pay as much as £4m for the 21-year-old.
But it seems, now, that that price could be way off the mark if reports from Denmark are to be believed.
According to Elkstra Bladet, Kvistgaarden could cost Celtic as much as €7m (almost £6m). What is also interesting about the report is that it claims interest in the youngster is said to be ‘massive’ but a transfer this summer is ‘unlikely’.
Whether Celtic will pay that kind of money on a relatively unknown quantity remains to be seen. Kvistgaarden has just 15 senior goals in 65 appearances for Brondby.
The youngster enjoyed a red-hot scoring streak towards the end of last season where he scored 6 goals in 5 games which included a hattrick in the 5-1 win over Nordsjaelland as he helped Brondby to a mid-table finish.

Brondby are currently third in the Danish Superliga after five fixtures with Kvistgaarden scoring once and creating two.
The cards are firmly on Brondby’s table on this occasion. They tied up the young talent to a new contract in the spring and the deal still has four years left to run.
So it seems that if Celtic do wish to take their interest further, they will need to pay a premium for Kvistgaarden.
