The recent transfer rumour of Celtic’s interest in Brondby striker, Mathias Kvistgaarden, has been given a shot in the arm as a report names the price Brendan Rodgers may need to pay for the Dane.
The Sun claims that the Danish Superliga side could ask for as much as £4m for the Danish u21 forward as the club’s Director of Football, Carsten Jensen, addressed the recent speculation linking his player with a move to Glasgow.
Jansen said [The Sun], “Basically, it has not been part of the plan.
“We are still in the process of transfers. It’s both relation to ins and outs. We still need to adjust the number of players in the squad, even though we are getting to where we want to be.
“It’s definitely getting closer to what we want to have in our squad. Then we have our eyes and ears open in relation to a few more positions.”
Celtic are thought to be in the market for another striker after the injury to Hyeongyu Oh meant that Kyogo Furuhashi was the only recognised striker at the club.
Brendan Rodgers has previously said that when Oh is fit, he is likely to go into the new season with the Korean, Kyogo and Daizen Maeda as his three strikers.

However, what the weekend has taught us, as has the injury to Oh, is that we need to add extra quality to the side if we are to defend the title and make progress in Europe.
At just 21 years old, it seems that Kvistgaarden could be another work-in-progress player. However, he has enjoyed a decent goalscoring record of late and after receiving a glowing recommendation from Danish football expert Toke Thielade, the youngster does seem like he could be a good addition to the Celtic squad.
What is for sure though is that Celtic must get the next few transfer additions spot on as the domestic games are coming thick and fast as well as the Champions League group stages.
