Celtic seem to be interested in a loan move for Julian Araujo, but have one obstacle that they must overcome in order to complete the deal.

Wilfried Nancy will be looking to complete a major overhaul of his side so that they can suit his 3-4-3 formation.

Nancy’s position is already untenable for some fans after the latest loss against Motherwell, but maybe some new signings will help change the tide.

Araujo is currently at Bournemouth but not in their plans and therefore has emerged as an option for the Hoops. But, there is reportedly one sticking point that will need to be resolved.

The Julian Araujo obstacle Celtic must overcome

As multiple reports have revealed, Celtic are in talks over a loan move for Araujo, but the right-back will need to wait for one issue to be sorted.

Journalist Mark Hendry revealed in his Substack column that one of the things that could hold up the deal is the number of players out on loan overseas that Bournemouth have.

The Premier League club are already at their max and would therefore need to recall one to allow the Mexico international to join the Hoops.

Clubs in his native homeland are also interested in signing him on loan.

Nancy will try and put his own mark on the squad, and signing Araujo certainly fills that quota.

The former Barcelona man was at LA Galaxy while Nancy managed CF Montreal and Columbus Crew.

LA Galaxy Head Coach and Sporting Director Greg Vanney said after his move to Barcelona: “Julian joining FC Barcelona is a great story of a young kid from Southern California coming into the LA Galaxy Academy, through LA Galaxy II and excelling with the first team.”
