Celtic’s Tobi Oluwayemi is set to leave the club on loan on Deadline Day.

Martin O’Neill is quite happy to let his fringe players leave the club, with more focus being put on incomings before the deadline.

Junior Adamu and Joel Mvoku have both undergone medicals ahead of moves to Celtic, with the team’s attack being given some much-needed depth.

In terms of outgoings, Celtic have rejected multiple bids for Arne Engels from Nottingham Forest, with the latest going beyond a fee of £17 million.

Oluwayemi’s is an exit that the club are willing to facilitate, however.

Celtic’s Tobi Oluwayemi set for Leyton Orient loan

Oluwayemi has been at Celtic since 2019, joining from Tottenham Hotspur in a move that was described as a coup at the time.

He has never made an appearance for the Hoops’ first team, instead going out on a number of loans over the last few years.

Leyton Orient looks to be his next destination according to the Daily Record, with the League One side winning the race for the 22-year-old.

Oluwayemi went on emergency loan to Kilmarnock in October, establishing himself as their first-team goalkeeper ahead of Eddie Beach.

He spent last season on loan at Neil Lennon’s Dunfermline, also having spells at Admira Wacker in Austria and Cork City in Ireland.

Orient are one of many clubs lurking dangerously close to relegation in a tightly-poised League One table, having made the play-offs last season.

Just a few days ago, they completed the signing of Daniel Bachmann, a goalkeeper Hoops fans may remember for his performances for Steve Clarke’s Kilmarnock.

Oluwayemi’s contract at Celtic expires at the end of the current season; an extension looks unlikely at this point.

Celtic’s other players out on loan

Celtic’s list of players out on loan is growing, after Shin Yamada completed his move to Preusen Munster in the German second tier last week.

Hayato Inamura also left on loan this month, joining FC Tokyo. Like Yamada, Maik Nawrocki is also out on loan in Germany, at Hannover 96.

Luis Palma’s performances at Lech Poznan have led to rumours of a permanent move, but the Polish club would have to break their transfer record to activate the clause in his deal.

Stephen Welsh could still return to Motherwell on loan, if Celtic complete an eleventh-hour move for a defender on Deadline Day.
