It’s the story of Celtic’s transfer window so far.

Find a player, register their interest, make an approach and then miss out.

Brendan Rodgers wants new additions, but with Kasper Dolberg heading to Ajax, Celtic doing everything they can to get those signings over the line before the 11pm deadline.

They aren’t the only side on the hunt for late additions and the Hoops have been dealt another blow as a Championship club have beaten the Bhoys to a striker.

David Datro Fofana on the verge of joining Charlton Athletic

Celtic made an attempt to sign David Datro Fofana as part of a desperate scramble as all of their targets slip away from them.

Anthony Joseph reported that Fofana has turned down the chance to come to Glasgow on loan for the season and will instead join Championship side Charlton Athletic on loan.

The deal isn’t quite done yet though as the London club had to submit a deal sheet in order to finalise the paperwork but if it goes through in time, it’s another bitter blow for Rodgers and the club.

Will Celtic make any signings on transfer deadline day?

As it stands, it looks like there is only one player that will become a Celtic player on deadline day.

Sebastian Tounekti has flown into Glasgow after agreeing a £5.2m deal with Hammarby to sign the Tunisia international.

Hammarby’s sporting director said Tounekti wouldn’t be sold but the Hoops seemingly matched their demands and have done enough to persuade the winger to come to Glasgow.
