As of this moment, there is no clear answer as to who will be Celtic’s starting striker for the 2025/26 campaign.
Kyogo Furuhashi’s abrupt exit in January didn’t help matters, and Celtic didn’t bring in a replacement, but now they have time to fish the waters to fill one of the most important areas of the pitch.
The 2025 summer transfer window is wide open, and there have been a lot of rumours swirling around regarding the striker department.
There are players currently at the club who Brendan Rodgers will be looking to use next season, such as PFA Player of the Year, Daizen Maeda, and the much-talked-about Adam Idah.
But the transfer market will be used to bring in another number nine, and a few names have been mentioned.

Bojan Miovski is more likely at Celtic than at Rangers
Celtic fans will know Bojan Miovski really well, after his spell at Aberdeen, where he was a popular player with the supporters.
The 25-year-old is currently at Girona, and journalist Scott Burns discussed the possibility of the hitman returning to the Premiership and playing for the Scottish champions.
Burns told the Daily Record that there is ‘more interest’ from Celtic than Rangers for Miovski, and Girona are looking to ‘offload’ him.
“Very good player,” said Burns. “His record at Aberdeen was excellent. Gets a big move to Girona, and it hasn’t worked out for him.
“I would be amazed, knowing his situation there, which is pretty clear, I think they are looking to offload him, after a year or so, I would be amazed if Rangers and Celtic didn’t look at that situation and think, ‘is this worth it? Is this something we could do?’ Just because he is proven in Scottish football.”
Burns then added, as posted on the Daily Record: “There was always more interest shown in Miovski from the Celtic side rather than Rangers. I would think Rangers would be less likely now.
“Russell Martin turned down the chance to sign him for Southampton. I know that Miovski wants to stay and fight for his place at Girona. I would be surprised if he came back to Scotland.”
David Strelec mentioned amid the Callum Osmand transfer noise
Celtic could sign Callum Osmand from Fulham, and the teenager, who hasn’t made a senior appearance, has been backed to go straight into the senior side.
But amid the noise around Osmand, another striker’s name was put on the table by Burns, and that’s David Strelec.
Celtic have been linked with the Slovan Bratislava hitman, and now he has been brought up again.
“They are definitely looking at striking options, and Brendan Rodgers would be keen to add on that front,” added Burns.
“If I were a betting man, I would expect Celtic to have another striker before the close of the window. Callum Osmand is coming in and will be the understudy.
“The funds are there, and they would be willing to do a deal. Could a move for David Strelec come back into play?”
