Celtic want Julian Araujo in before Rangers game

It seems that the Hoops are already working hard to secure their first signing of the season and it will be to shore up the defence.

Julian Araujo has been linked with Celtic after only playing one game all season for Bournemouth.

Wilfried Nancy knows Araujo well from his time with LA Galaxy and there are hopes that he can join in time for the Glasgow derby on 3 January.

There is one stumbling block in the Aurajo deal as Bournemouth have too many players out on loan at overseas clubs but if it can be rectified in time, he could be the first signing of the window.

Louis Munteanu set for MLS move

Louis Munteanu is a name that will not go away when it comes to transfer rumours in Europe.

Munteanu was set to leave CFR Cluj in the summer after going on strike, but his asking price was too much and remained in Romania.

Cluj are struggling financially now and the forward looks destined to leave this month.

Celtic need a number nine but it appears that he won’t be coming to Glasgow with Tom Bogert reporting that D.C. United are in pole position to sign Munteanu.

Nacho Laquintana on Celtic’s radar

Finally, the last player to come up on the radar is Uruguayan right winger Nacho Laquintana.

After impressing on loan with Santos, Laquintana has caught the eye of the Hoops according to the press in his native Uruguay.

Is this the sort of player Celtic should be targeting?

The 26-year-old could help plug the gap on the right-hand side with more options given the lack of balance in the side right now.
